This is a recently erected replica milepost, it is on the left bank travelling towards Newtown so the distance to Newtown appears first to the boater. The dedication plaque reads "Erected by Alan Platt of The Inland Waterways Association in memory of Louisa Platt (1946 - 2002) who loved the canals".
