Opened in 1906 by the Maidens & Dunure Light Railway, which was part of the Glasgow & South Western Railway, on the loop line from Ayr to Girvan via Turnberry, this station closed to passengers in 1930. It reopened briefly in 1938 but then closed permanently. View north east from Station Road bridge towards Heads of Ayr and Ayr. The platform down in the cutting was heavily overgrown but still extant when this image was taken.
