The tram has just departed North Pier tram stop (south-bound) and is about to pass Blackpool's famous Tower, on its way to the terminus at Starr Gate. The tram is one of the initial batch of sixteen Bombardier Flexity 2 articulated trams, purchased as part of the modernisation of the tramway in 2011. This one was delivered in February 2012. A further two trams of this type (nos. 017 & 018) were delivered in December 2017.
