The knolls in the middle ground are Fathom Mountain and Cloughoge Mountain. Further South in the background right is the northern flank of the Cooley Mountain. All these are parts of the Ring of Gullion which marks the outer edge of the volcanic intrusions associated with the Slieve Gullion 'volcano'.
