Carved stone post by the UC road (was A130), in parish of East Hanningfield (Chelmsford District), 20m South of waterworks entrance, by the road, on East side of road. Erected by the Rawreth & Chelmsford turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : RAYLEIGH / 8 : : CHELMSFORD / 6 : Rivet benchmark on top. Grade II listed.
