Carved stone post by the A666, in parish of Wilpshire (Ribble Valley District), near Anderton House, Kenwood 162, on South East side of road. Blackburn stone, erected by the Clitheroe to Blackburn & Mellor Brook turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- TO {<-hand} WHALLEY 3 MILES {line} BLACKBURN {hand->} 3¾ MILES Milestone Society National ID: LA_BBCL03
