Metal plate attached to concrete post by the UC road (was A420), in parish of Marshfield (South Gloucestershire District), Hay Street, at junction with Hayfield against stone wall, on North side of road. Marshfield plate, erected by the Marshfield turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- 9 MILES TO CHIPPENHAM BRIDGE 12 MILES AND 1 FURLONG TO BRISTOL Grade II listed.
