This monument celebrates Turnbull origins. It depicts William of Rule "turning" an angry bull to save the life of Robert the Bruce in Stirling in 1313. It was commissioned by the Hawick-born Turnbull Clan Association and was unveiled in 2009 when there was a special gathering of Turbulls from many other countries. The monument was sculpted by Galashiels artist Angela Hunter. Around the base are words from the poem Scenes of Infancy by John Leyden of Denholm.
