Metal plate attached to stone post by the UC road, in parish of Otterbourne (Winchester District), by Meadow Cottage, by the road, on East side of road. Winton plate, erected by the Southampton, North District turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- 67 Miles From LONDON 4 Miles From WINTON 8 to SOUTHTON Carved benchmark recorded.
