Carved stone post by the A414, in parish of Ongar (Epping Forest District), Epping Road, West of Four Wantz roundabout, by 2nd lay-by, on South side of road. Erected by the Epping & Ongar turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : EPPING / 6 : : LONDON / 22 : : ONGAR / 1 : Carved benchmark on lower Northeast face. Essex HER.
