Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of Rochford (Rochford District), Southend Road, by the road, on East side of road. Erected by the Rochford Hundred (Division of Essex First District) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- LONDON 40 Benchmark recorded. Grade II listed.
