Carved stone post by the B3040, in parish of Winchester (Winchester District), Romsey Road, Winchester, on grass verge under trees near Sleepers Hill bus stop, on Northwest side of road. Erected by the Winchester & Romsey turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- I To West Gate Winto(n) 10M of 1 Ch(n) To Co(rn) Ex(change) R(omsey) Grade II listed.
