Cast iron post by the B5500, in parish of Audley Rural (Newcastle under Lyme District), New Road, Bignall End, in tarmac in front of brick wall, on North side of road. Dudley iron casting, erected by the Newcastle under Lyme & Nantwich turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : MILES / CHESTERTON 2 : : TOWNSHIP / OF / AUDLEY : : MILES / AUDLEY ¼ / BASFORD 5¾ / NANTWICH 10 : Grade II listed.
