Metal plate attached to stone post by the A6068, in parish of SUTTON (CRAVEN District), Colne Road, Northeast of Cowling; 30m East of 'turning traffic' sign, on narrow verge, on South side of road. WR iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : COLNE / 7 MILES / BURNLEY / 13 MILES : : BLACKBURN ADDINGHAM / & / COCKING END / ROAD / SUTTON : : KEIGHLEY/ 6¼ MILES / ADDINGHAM / 8 MILES / (ILKLEY / 11¼ / MILES) : Grade II listed.
