Originally erected in Southgate Street in 1636, it was removed in 1784 and after a couple of interim moves, it was donated to the City of Gloucester and re-erected here in 1937 as part of the development of the gardens of Hillfield House as a public park. Listed Grade II*, it has been on the City Council’s Buildings at Risk Register since 2001 due to the state of the stonework http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6090329 .
