What is unusual about this stench pipe or sewer vent is not obvious unless you happen to touch it in passing by (though the lack of the usual sort of decorative finial at the top might give a clue). The base is of the usual iron construction, with the name of the manufacturer Ham Baker cast into it Image But the upper stage is a cylinder of plastic, painted to match. Was the metal original perhaps damaged in a storm or a collision?
