Grade II Listed Georgian Town House, built in 1815 by Lord Ilchester's builders, for a Solicitor and his family. Prior to the hotel there is reference to Vincent Thomas Antiques at this address. Harrods' Directory 1865 details 'Keats Harriet, coffee house, 29, High West Street' and 'Tooze John Randolph, attorney at law,& agent for the Scottish Widows' Life Assurance Society, 29, High West Street'. Kelly's Directory 1895 lists under Borough Magistrates 'GEORGE, George Aldridge, 29 High West Street'. In 1907 it appears to be the home of Bernard Griffin, possibly a photographer.
