Stone post (plate lost) by the B1224, in parish of RUFFORTH (YORK District), Wetherby Road, Rufforth, at side of small memorial garden, opposite Milestone Avenue, on West side of road. WR iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Re-located from the entrance to Gable Park, a short distance to the South. Inscription once read:- : (WETHERBY / 8½ MILES / COLLINGHAM / 10½ / LEEDS / 21 MILES) : : (COLLINGHAM & YORK / ROAD / RUFFORTH) : : (YORK / 5 MILES) : Hole in top. City of York HER.
