Metal plate attached to stone post by the A31, in parish of BISHOPS SUTTON (WINCHESTER District), Bishop's Sutton, by the road, on North side of road, in front of White Friars. Tasker block with replacement plate, erected by the Winchester & Alton, Lower District turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- LONDON 56 WINTON 8 Maker:- TASKER Cancelled benchmark on lower face. Winchester HER & Winchester UAD.
