Metal plate attached to stone post by the UC road, in parish of RUNHALL (SOUTH NORFOLK District), 50yds East of crossroads (Church Lane, Blind Lane, Norwich Road and Mattishall Road), on roadside/field edge bank, on North side of road. Dereham iron plate erected by the Norwich & Swaffham turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- NORWICH 10 MATTISHALL 1 Defaced carved benchmark at base. Norfolk HER.
