Carved stone post by the A414, in parish of NORTH WEALD BASSETT (EPPING FOREST District), Epping Road, Bovinger, East of Travelodge, near bend in road, on grass verge, on South side of road. Erected by the Epping & Ongar turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : 4 / MILES / TO / EPPING : : LONDON / 20 : : ONGAR / 3 : Carved benchmark and rivet on top. Essex HER.
