An eighteenth century, red sandstone clock tower that was constructed using material from the "Citadel of Inverness", a fort built by Oliver Cromwell between 1652 and 1658. The Citadel in turn, was built using stone pillaged from Beauly and Kinloss monasteries, and other nearby religious buildings.
