The milestone is located east of the A137 junction and Cavendish Drive, on the wide grass verge, on the north side of the road. Parish of Lawford (Tendring District). Carved stone post, erected by the Essex Second District turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- LIX / Colchester / 8 / Lawford : : Harwich / 13 Milestone Society National ID: EX_COHH59
