Metal plate attached to stone post by the B6088, in parish of STOCKSBRIDGE (SHEFFIELD District), Manchester Road, Deepcar, in narrow path near to No. 227, on South side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : HUDDERSFIELD / 17½ MILES / HOLMFIRTH / 12 MILES : : WADSLEY LANGSETT / & / SHEFFIELD / ROAD / BOLSTERSTONE : : SHEFFIELD / 9 MILES : Maker:- : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE : Grade II listed.
