Modern metal plate attached to stone post by the UC road, in parish of CHILWORTH (TEST VALLEY District), Velmore Farm, 75m North of Templar's Mead - new housing development on west of road - on the verge on East side of road. IRS iron plate, erected by the Southampton, North District turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- 70 Miles From LONDON 7 Miles From WINTON 5 To SOUTHTON IRS Ltd Norfolk. Milestone Society National ID: HA_WISO07.
