Metal plate attached to stone post by the A62, in parish of BATLEY AND LIVERSEDGE (KIRKLEES District), Leeds Road, Heckmondwike, just North of Six Lanes End A651/B6117 junction, by wall surrounding Six Lane Ends Working Mens Club/Public House, on East side of road. Brayshaw & Booth iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : HUDDERSFIELD / 7 MILES : : BIRSTAL & HUDDERSFIELD / ROAD / HECKMONDWIKE : : LEEDS / 8 MILES / BIRSTAL / 1¼ MILES : Maker:- : BRAYSHAW & BOOTH / MAKERS / LIVERSEDGE : Milestone Society National ID: YW_HULE07.
