Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of SHERFIELD ON LODDON (BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE District), corner of Longbridge Close, housing estate by bridge, between grass verge and pavement, on West side of road. Reading half-round stone, erected by the Reading & Basingstoke turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : READING / 11 : : SOUTHAMPTON / 35 : : BASINGSTOKE / 5 : Grade II listed.
