Metal plate attached to stone post by Roman Road, the former B1002 (was A12), in parish of INGATESTONE AND FRYERNING (BRENTWOOD District), opposite Heybridge Hotel, (now Hare Bridge Crescent) by the road, on Northwest side of road. Erected by the Essex Second District turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : Chelmsford / 7 : : TO / LONDON / 22 / Ingatstone : : Brentford / 4 : Milestone Society National ID: EX_BWCH22.
