Modern metal plate attached to old stone post by the A342, in parish of UPAVON (KENNET District), Andover Road, at sharp bend opposite junction with Vicarage Lane, on West side of road. Modern 'Everleigh' iron plate, originally erected by the Everley turnpike trust in the 19th century at SU 1392 5407. The original stone was Grade II listed, but if this is the original stone, it seems to have been re-located after April 2007. Inscription reads:- DEVIZES 10 MILES EVERLEIGH 4 ANDOVER 16 Carved benchmark front mid, large hole on top. Grade II listed at SU 1392 5407.
