Metal plate attached to stone post by the A274, in parish of LANGLEY (MAIDSTONE District), Sutton Road, 60m North of Horseshoe Lane, in front of hazel hedge, behind tarmac paving, on East side of road. Sutton marker, erected by the Maidstone & Biddenden turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- Maidstone 4 Tenterden 14½ Kent HER listed.
