Metal plate attached to stone post by the A1079, in parish of POCKLINGTON (EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE District), opposite Yorkway Motel and The Balk, Pocklington (75m Southeast of Southmoor House), by the road, on South side of road. Beverley Mounting block, 3 step, erected by the Beverley to Kexby Bridge turnpike trust in the 18th/19th century. Inscription reads:- 15 BEVERLEY 14 YORK Carved benchmark on top of second step, points to rivet. Grade II listed.
