Opened in 1884 jointly by the Metropolitan District Railway and District Railway on what is now the District and Circle lines, this station was renamed Tower Hill in 1946, and closed in 1967. It was replaced by the current Tower Hill station situated around 200m to the east. View north east on Byward Street. The original entrance was through the doorway in the centre of the building
