Stone post (plate lost) by the UC road, in parish of STONE (STAFFORD District), West of Edge Hill, on roadside. Erected by the Rugeley & Stone turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription once read:- : (LONDON 136 / LICHFIELD 23 / STONE 1 / NEWCASTLE 7½) : Milestone Society National ID: ST_SNNC01.
