Carved stone post by the B656, in parish of WELWYN (WELWYN HATFIELD District), Codicote Road, in pavement against wall, on West side of road. Welwyn stone, erected by the Welwyn turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- (XXV) (MILES) (FROM) (LONDON) HITCHIN IX BEDFORD XXV Grade II listed.
