Carved stone post by the A30, in parish of HOOK (HART District), East of Murrell Green, just west of the cutting on a grass verge in front of the hedge, on South side of road. Hartford limestone diamond, erected by the Basingstoke, Hartfordbridge & Blackwater (and Odiham) turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : Basing / Stoke / 7½ : : PARISH / OF / ODIHAM / LONDON / 38 : : Hartford / Brigde (sic) / 2¼ : Carved benchmark on back right middle.
