Thurstaston Common has changed hands many times over the years, becoming Thurstaston Common Recreation Grounds in 1883, and there are a number of interesting boundary stones to be discovered around the area. Areas of the common were donated to the National Trust between 1916 and 1925, and the low stone seen here is inscribed 'NT' indicating the boundary of the National Trust land.
