Here the Llangollen Canal turns right to cross the Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Left is an arm of the canal which leads to one of the bases for the AngloWelsh narrowboat holiday company and to Jones the Boats. Originally it had been intended to construct a canal from here to Chester but it never materialised. On the right can be seen one of a series of sculptures by Anthony Lysycia that tells the story of the canal basin and the aqueduct.
