The Porch House in Stow-on-the-Wold, was formerly called the Royalist Hotel. One has to wonder why owners of a historic building such as this which used to have a regal name feels it is necessary to rebrand itself with a prosaic name such as 'The Porch'. The building is historic, it is Grade II* listed, see: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1170376 and thought to be predominantly 16th century, however, the pub claim part date bake to the year 946.
