The freehold property at 71-75 High Street to the left of the butchers was being auctioned at the time this photograph was taken. It was described thus: "The property is arranged on ground and two upper floors to provide two ground floor shops with a self-contained maisonette above, accessed via a recessed entrance between the two shop units, fronting the High Street." On the wall of the property is a "Winged Wheel" sign belonging to the Cyclist's Touring Club http://www.cyclingnorthwales.co.uk/pages/ctc_wing_whls.htm Apparently this was originally the Blue Lion Temperance Hotel which then became a cafe https://www.peoplescollection.wales/items/38382 and was very popular with cyclists in the 1950s. By 2005 it was an antique shop. How it acquired the name Arran House I haven't been able to discover, The Winged Wheel sign Image has however survived the many changes to the building.
