Alongside Station Road opposite David Dower Close, viewed in January 2019. Until 2008 there were two railway stations in Abercynon. Abercynon North was on the Cardiff to Aberdare line. Abercynon South was on the Cardiff to Merthyr Tydfil line. After major engineering work, Abercynon North station was closed. Its services were moved to Abercynon South which was renamed Abercynon.
