Thames Valley Police Information
Thames Valley Police is the largest non-metropolitan police force in England and Wales. We police the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, and serve a diverse population of more than two million, plus six million visitors who come to Thames Valley each year. We patrol 196 miles of motorway - more than any other British police force. The Thames Valley Police force area is divided into 12 Local Policing Areas (LPAs). Britwell and Haymill Neighbourhood
Every neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
View Have Your Say summary and flowchart (PDF 40 Kb - opens new window)Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

The Inspector is in command of the neighbourhood Policing Team and is responsible for the overall policing of the neighbourhood. They lead, manage and co-ordinate the team and also work with the community and other agencies, in ensuring an appropriate and timely response to incidents and issues affecting the community.
Police Constables work alongside the community and partner agencies to tackle crime and issues identified by the local community. They work together with PCSOs to be a visible presence in the local area and build trust and confidence by developing a detailed understanding of the community.
This officer is a Police Community Support Officer. While having no power of arrest, the officer can attend incidents, patrol and reassure, tackle ASB and parking issues, and in Thames Valley will be deployed to deliver our Crime Attendance policy of attending to provide follow up support and contact. They too are also responsible for tackling the concerns of the community.

| 1 Dec 2025 | ASB - Drug Activity Response (1 Dec 2025)argeted patrols remain active in areas identified for drug-related concerns, supported by collaborative intelligence work. In partnership with the local council, we have pinpointed addresses linked to drugs and other anti-social behaviour, with ongoing action underway. Recent arrests for a range of drug offences have also been made, with several individuals currently released on bail. |
| 1 Dec 2025 | Burglaries Response (1 Dec 2025)The winter burglary campaign is currently underway which is being managed through joint work by Detectives on the Priority Crime Team and your local officers on the Neighbourhood team. In the coming weeks there will be an increased presence of officers conducting patrols to reassure the public and deter potential offenders. Efforts remain underway to address the issue through educational posters and proactive policing, aimed at identifying suspects for criminal proceedings while also promoting awareness and education. |

Recent arrests for various drug offences have been carried out, resulting in thousands of pounds’ worth of drugs being taken off the streets. |

To safeguard the community and minimise the risk of further occurrences, police will be conducting high‑visibility patrols in targeted locations. This activity will run alongside ongoing multi‑agency work already underway to address the behaviour and associated risks. |

In response, a targeted enforcement operation was undertaken, resulting in the execution of a warrant at a linked address. This action led to the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs, disrupting local supply and addressing community concerns. The matter remains under active investigation, with further enquiries ongoing to identify any wider networks, safeguard vulnerable individuals, and support longer‑term problem‑solving in the area. |
