Number 17 Ford Street is part of a late 15th/early 16th century 3-room-and-through-passage plan from which number 15 was separated in the early 19th century. The house was remodelled in the 18th century and the shop inserted in the 19th century. There is much surviving original fabric and it has remained remarkably unaltered since the early 19th century, both externally and internally. It is one of the earliest buildings in Moretonhampstead and one of only 4 or 5 with smoke- blackened roof timbers. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1097214
