The green sign and the two plates on the brickwork are to do with the 'Clacton Seafront and Garden Walk', one of the 'Tendring Healthwalks'. The plaque commemorates the fact that Winston Churchill landed near here, having made a forced landing in a naval seaplane in April 1914.
