Described by Pevsner as 'the grandest Neo-Greek house in Cheltenham', Thirlestaine House stands on Bath Road and dates from the 1820s; it was bought by Cheltenham College in 1947. The building is Grade I listed, see: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1386724
