There was a notice inside from BT, dated 19/8/16, saying that they proposed to remove this kiosk due to lack of use. It was still there more than two years later, scruffy outside but the phone looked intact. Further down the road is a postbox. The house beyond it used to contain the village Post Office, but that closed in 2013 (Cumberland & Westmorland Herald http://www.cwherald.com/a/archive/skelton-post-office-closure-shocks-villagers.404231.html ).
