This street is the northern continuation of Percy Street. The large ornate stone building on the right now houses Blackwells Bookshop but was The Grand Hotel in the late C19. The name can still be seen near the top of the building. On the left is the Crows Nest pub, a famous Newcastle drinking haunt, built in 1902. However there was a Crows Nest on the site from the late C18/early C19.
