The Pine Ridge Golf Course, which occupies part of the Frimley Fuel Allotments, is cut in two by a bridleway, next to which is this pond. The unusual name derives from the time when locals were allowed to collect fallen wood for fuel. Each family entitled to collect fuel were "allotted" a particular area.
