Bottom Meadow is the home of Sandhurst Town Football Club. Known as The Fizzers, their website is here http://www.sandhursttownfc.org/ The nickname Fizzers comes from a Friendly Insurance Society (F.I.S.) set up in Sandhurst in 1933 that supported the club. Supporters standing behind an opposing team's goal would shout "Fizz Fizz Bang" when the ball went into the net and ever since then they have been called the Fizzers.
