I joined West Midlands Police in 1999 with the initial part of my service being a Response Officer in Wolverhampton. After being promoted I then became a custody Sergeant at Sandwell. Since being promoted I have worked on a number of policing areas and across a number of roles including Neighbourhood Task Force in Birmingham East. I have also led the partnerships team at Sandwell and supervised a large city centre team in Wolverhampton.

I have lots of experience around the challenges facing communities across the West Midlands and I am a passionate advocate of neighbourhood policing and the huge difference our officers can make to communities dealing with crime and anti -social behaviour. I have worked mostly in neighbourhood roles, working with our partners and communities to problem solve.

I have only very recently taken responsibility for the Dudley East constituency and am committed to ensuring we provide an accessible service to our community that listens and acts.

My staff work from three sites at Halesowen, Sedgley and Dudley and cover the following wards:

Sedgley, Coseley, Upper Gornal, Gornal and Woodsetton covering the north of the Borough.
Castle and Priory and St James covering Dudley Town Centre
St Thomas covering Kates Hill, Netherton, Quarry Bank and Dudley Wood and
Halesowen, Hayley Green, Cradley and Wollescote and Belle Vale.

10 Oct 2024

Local residents and commuters around Cradley and Wollescote have told us about issues related to anti-social behaviour.

Response (10 Oct 2024)

We have put in place a dedicated patrol plan for the area to ensure that we have officers in the area at the right time of day. We have issued several Anti social behaviour warning notices and Section 59 notices in relation to off road bikes. As part of a longer-term solution we are also working with the Dudley Council to combat anti-social behaviour.

10 Oct 2024

Businesses and shoppers have told us that they are concerned about shoplifting and business crime in Halesowen high street and the surrounding areas.

Response (10 Oct 2024)

We are continuing to work alongside our partners and local business around the high street area to deter shoplifting offences. This includes close partnership work with security staff and shop workers, targeted patrols by our local officers and crime reduction advice and support.

10 Oct 2024

We are concerned at the number of car crime offences taking place across Halesowen.

Response (10 Oct 2024)

The dedicated patrol plan we have in place for anti-social behaviour and in the area, also applies to this issue. A strong focus of our work around this issue is about prevention. We visit all offence locations, offer reassurance and give crime prevention products. We then conduct a further CCTV trawl to identify a route or offenders by doing this.
