Demolished, along with the neighbouring "Queen Anne House" of Alderman Gilbert Chesshyre, in 1938 for the proposed widening of Ford Street was number 24 Friar Gate. For many years this was the Park Steam Laundry. The scheme for widening Ford Street was never fully completed and today the site is a car park next to the Varsity bar. The outline of number 24 has thankfully been preserved.
